The Paris COVID Olympics

Inadequate measures instilled at the Paris Olympics 2024 especially around the Olympic village were met with numerous cases of COVID being picked up in testing.

- 69 contracted COVID rendering them unable to compete (17 more had illness, maybe COVID, making them unable to compete)

- 24 current (& a few former) Olympians have Long COVID

- 53 athletes have suffered from illness at Paris Olympics (3 coaches & family members as well, 2 died)

For a detailed list from Tokyo and Paris see this list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fP_KwWLhTrxELmMfWD2m3t78unLiiHS9dcw5D2HgCcY/edit?gid=1660195764#gid=1660195764

The unfortunate reality is that this level of transmission is likely going on around the world as we speak and without the levels of testing seen at the Paris Olympics then COVID cases are not being notified.
